5 Ways Captain Jack Sparrow Is All Of Us During The Semester

As we go through the last month of the semester, life starts to get very stressful. Group projects consume our time, papers are abundant, and study guides start appearing for every class, whether teacher-made or found somewhere online. Sometimes, we just need to figure out how to just survive in the best possible way. Captain Jack Sparrow is known for his survival skills, no matter what situation he is in.

1. Sometimes you just need to run away from all responsibilities

Running away isn’t always the answer, but sometimes, it is. Even if just for a while, an escape is nice. Maybe running away to some safe place you have, somewhere to ignore the responsibilities and stress of school. That doesn't mean to run away forever, but it might mean just for a couple hours.

2. Homework is very, very scary

Somehow it all piles up and becomes this scary pile of homework that can never be escaped, no matter how hard we try. It just seems like there is always some homework to be done. As we progress through the years in college, it always seems like there is more and more homework. It would be nice if it would stop for a little while, but it never does. There is always a very scary pile of homework waiting for us.

3. There are times that the semester is just too confusing

“What do you mean we have three papers due this week? I thought they were due at the end of the semester?” Of course, the semester is ending in a few weeks, so now everything is due. Procrastination is a very real thing and can make like all the more stressful. At this point, nothing can save us from the procrastination or the work or the stress.

4. Can’t the homework just all go away?

I mean, really, don't we have enough going on? Can't the homework just take a step back and let us not stress out about it? So not only is it scary, but it never leaves us. Even when we enter the real world, there is still work that will end up coming home with us, thus the never ending cycle of homework. It would be nice if it would all go away, but it's not. It is just something we will have to always deal with, no matter how much we wish it would just disappear.

5. There are creative ways to get things done

There are easier ways to get things done, but that doesn't always mean that it is the best way, or even the fun way. College is hard enough, so it's good to make things fun and more interesting. If not, then life can become all the more stressful. It's nice to find a fun and exciting way to study, do group work, or even just unwind after a long day of classes. Besides, changing up how you get things done can keep you from getting stuck in a rut.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
