There are a lot of people starting college this year who need a lot of advice and love, but there are also a lot of people choosing a college this year who need just as much advice and love. For some people picking a college is easy, but for others, the process is not in anyway enjoyable or even close to easy. To the ones who feel like God is not on their side, these verses are for you and remember His plan is always good.

1. Genesis 18:12-14

So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?” Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?'Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Yes, I realize this is about a woman in her 90's doubting that she will have a baby, but look at what I italicized. "Is anything too hard for the Lord," the answer is- you guessed it- no. We like to put God in this little bubble of "he can't fix my problems," but the thing is he can literally do anything, even show you that the college or place he is calling you to go will be good for you and his Kingdom

2. James 1:5-8

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do."

Maybe you're at that point where you have been praying for guidance and it just hasn't come yet. You're thinking "God isn't even listening to me," but he is. There is a time for everything and you have to trust in his time. Never doubt that God is there and will give you all the answers you need, right when you need them.

3. Mark 11:23

"Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. "

God has and will continue to move mountains for you and with you. You can't doubt that God doesn't have great plans for you even though you are probably hurting right now. College is a huge part of your life, so you have to trust God will guide you.

4. Hebrews 11:6

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

Obviously, if you are going to the Lord about this you trust him, but how much? When I was going through this process I had so much faith in God, but when it came to him showing me where I was going to go to college it was almost like I had never been exposed to the Gospel at all. Remember, you can't pick which areas God has a say it.

5. Matthew 17:20

He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like there is a theme when someone is doubting God he automatically whips out the "you can move mountains with me on your side," and I really like that. Anyway... back to the point. Do you know how small a mustard seed is??? Veeeerrrryyyy tiny- no worries you don't have to look it up because I have provided a picture.

I can promise you this, God is going to do amazing things with you. Whether your faith is the size of that cute lil' seed or as big as Mt. Everest, God is always going to use you. So yes, right now you are doubting and it's hard to listen when people tell you to trust in the Lord, but you really don't have a choice. If you are wanting to change the world for the glory of God you have to starting trusting in him fully!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
