5 of the Best Tourist Places to Go to When In San Fransisco

Exactly on year ago today, I was on a trip in San Fransisco, and like Timehop loves to make us feel, I am feeling nostalgic. This was on of the best trips I have ever been on and in the four days I was in California, I completely fell in love with the city. Here is a list of five of my favorite places we went on our stay in beautiful San Fransisco.

1. The Golden Gate Bridge Hike

This hiking/driving trail is located just on the other side of The Golden Gate Bridge. Most of the hike is done by driving, however, if you really want the true experience of being up above the bridge & in the clouds, there is a portion of the trail just for walking. The view is breathtaking.

2. The San Fransisco Flower Market

This flower market is like no other, it takes up about two blocks of buildings, & is filled with any the of flower you can imagine. From peonies, to tulips, lilacs, to succulents, The San Fransisco Flower Market has it all.

3. 16th Avenue Tiled Steps

Although hiking down to the bottom (or top) of the steps is nearly exhausting, the view from the bottom or top is stunning. If you are standing at the top of the stairs, you get a view overlooking the ocean and a nice chilly breeze. However, what you see when you have reached the bottom of the stairs is far more rewarding: handmade mosaic artwork of the sun and moon.

4. Mr. Holmes Bakehouse

Famous for its bright neon pink letters, Mr. Holmes Bakehouse was my favorite part of this trip. The Bakehouse has many delicious desserts to choose from, but you're going to want to get there early because the line is out the door! Be sure to take a picture with the "I got baked in San Fransisco" sign before you leave!

5. The Painted Ladies

Other than the Golden Gate Bridge, I would say that these houses, known as The Painted Ladies, are the face of San Fransisco. These stunning houses line the street, & are painted in vintage detail, and will make you feel like you are on the set of a 90's tv show. (cue the Full House theme song & keep your eyes peeled for Uncle Jesse)

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
