5 Tina Fey Quotes to Live By
wennermedia

This weekend I finally I got the chance to watch "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" starring the very talented Tina Fey. While it was a more serious role for her, it reminded me of just how wonderful she is. I first became a fan during "30 Rock" as she played the comedy writer Liz Lemon, and have since watched her movies and reoccurring roles on "Saturday Night Live." Tina is absolutely hilarious and a great role model. Not to mention, she and Amy Poehler are friend goals on and off the screen.

A few years ago she wrote a book called "Bossy Pants." Along with telling her life story and making it in a male dominated field, she gave some advice that we all could use. The book is full of anecdotes that will make you laugh until you cry. She tells the truth of the hard work it takes to succeed in your career. These 5 quotes are true Tina Fey, and words to follow.

“Some people say, 'Never let them see you cry.' I say, if you’re so mad you could just cry, then cry. It terrifies everyone.”

Sometimes you need to show your emotions. It can make you a stronger person and prevent you from going insane. You can’t keep everything bottled up.

“If you retain nothing else, always remember the most important rule of beauty, which is: who cares?”

Tina Fey is a great role model for women. You should be the best version of yourself. This doesn’t mean trying to abide to a bunch of impossible standards, but that you are happy with the real you. Embrace your differences.

“Whatever the problem, be part of the solution. Don’t just sit around raising questions and pointing out obstacles.”

Problems will come up in school and your professional life. You have to be able to approach things proactively. Think creatively to create solutions. We get nowhere when we only look at the negatives.

“Confidence is 10% hard work and 90% delusion.”

Tina Fey didn’t get where she is today by being shy. She made it in to the comedy business, which is still male dominated. She embraces her quirks and lets it give her confidence in the roles she plays. We might not always be confident, but we need to try our best to continue to pursue our dreams anyway.

“Say yes and you'll figure it out afterwards.”

We will be offered a lot of opportunities in our lives. Sometimes, you just need to say yes immediately. While it is important to think, you don’t want to miss out on great experiences. Do whatever is necessary to make your goals a reality.

For more Tina Fey inspiration check out her book, or her social media, or her movies. Basically everything she says is gold.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
