I found a kindred soul in Hermione Granger the first time I watched theSorcerer's Stone in kindergarten, and when I first began reading the series in the first grade. I shared common ground with the young witch through our mutual love for books and reading, our love of friends, and our propensity to alienate most people around us because we were "insufferable know-it-alls." Here are some ways in which Hermione resonated with me...

1. She isn’t afraid of being a know-it-all


2. She refuses to allow fear to rule her

I grew up alongside my favorite character in literature, and she definitely helped me through some of the toughest times I've faced as a young girl.
