Turning 20... So close, yet so far. Hey, you might have beat teen pregnancy though.
So, you just turned 20. You aren't 21, so you can't go out and drink legally with your friends and let's be real, you probably still get told you look like you just turned 18, so you still get carded at the movies. Here are 6 things you actually want for your 20th birthday:
1. Money
Let's be real, you might want to act like you know what you want at 20 years old, but you really don't. When your family or friends go to ask you "what do you want for your birthday?" and you really can't think of anything, just ask for money or gift cards! Trust me. You might not be able to think of something right there on the spot, but I can promise you when you go shopping next week you'll see something you'll want that you didn't know you wanted a week ago.
2. A Fancy Dinner
Who really wants to pay for their own food anyway, am I right? Food always tastes better when somebody else buys it for you. Also, who doesn't want to get all dressed up and look elegant for their birthday? Invite all your friends to go out to a nice restaurant, open your gifts and make sure the restaraunt sings to you. I can promise you you'll still get to feel like it's your birthday and still feel like it's an appropriate festivity for your 20th.
3. Makeup
OK! We all know that getting new makeup is the best feeling in the world, but us girls may cringe a little when we walk up to that Sephora counter and find out our total is over $100. So when other people get it for us it's a great feeling. (p.s. gift cards to a makeup store is better. 10/10 times you won't guess my skin color).
4. Alex and Ani (any type of jewelry)
When it comes to Alex and Ani's, it could be a customized one, your sorority, your favorite sports, or even your zodiac sign, and much more. (the saying "diamonds is a girl best friend" isn't dead yet y'all).
5. A Spa Day
If a woman turns down getting her nails, toes, or a facial done, she's straight up lying. Any girl would love just to have a 1 stress-free day. With nobody talking to her, making her worried, or even telling her what to do.
