5 Things I Would Rather Do With My College Tuition

Imagine what that kind of money could buy..

Once upon a time, college was affordable and could be paid for by a part time job. Whether you realize it or not, in recent years, the costs associated with higher education have dramatically increased. While students could have a job on the side to assist in paying tuition, fees, and textbooks, the chances are that you will not be able to afford it by yourself. Many students, like myself, have taken out loans to help pay for our education costs. Post-graduation, many of those students acquire a significant amount of student loan debt, and if they are unemployed or underemployed, it can make the process of paying off those loans becomes even more frustration.

1. Buy a third car

From the ages of 8-19, there was one car for a household of three. It was relatively easy to manage until I was 17 and could drive. Finally, at age 19, using money from a bank account established for me by my maternal grandmother, we purchased a second car. To this day, we still only have two cars in my house, and it has become a challenge.

2. Pay off my credit cards

Between medical expenses and splurging on other necessary and unnecessary stuff, I have racked up a bit of debt of my credit cards. I am trying to pay them off, but it is incredibly difficult to make any progress in this when you work part-time making a wage that does not even reach the double digits. I have used excess loan funds each term to use for everyday expenses and paying bills.

3. Buy shoes

Anyone who knows me well enough, probably know how much I enjoy buying shoes. I am not sure the exact number of pairs of shoes that I currently own, but it is a more than my current age of 28. Unlike shirts, pants, and under garments, shoes will still fit you regardless of whether you gained or lost a significant amount of weight.

4. Get Cosmetic Surgery

I did not choose the boob life. Instead, the boob life chose me. Having a larger chest makes bra shopping even more painful than it already is. If I could get away with not wearing a bra in public, I would do so. Breast reduction surgery could easily cost close to $10,000 when all is said and done. While it is possible to get your health insurance to pay for the reduction, the process is extremely time-consuming and can get also become expensive.

I also would like to try CoolSculpting. For those unaware of the procedure, your fat cells are frozen and over time afterward, you will lose some weight. This is no quick way to lose a significant amount of weight, but this will help with losing fat on the more stubborn areas of your body.

5. Take an Actual Vacation

I have yet to visit Disney World and Disney Land, among other popular attractions. Having some extra money would be all that I would need to make this wish a reality. As much as I do not like to go out and would rather stay home and play video games, It is not every day that you can visit vacation hotspots.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
