Congrats everyone, you finished your first week of college. It wasn't that bad was it? My week was definitely a new experience... It was so much more stressful than high school and I have never been more tired in my life. I am literally so stressed and so tired that I pass out before I can do my daily prayer. I never think about my devotion because this work load is crazy and it's the first week. Thanks, professors. Anyways, I know how hard it is to maintain your relationship with Christ when you're going through the hustle and bustle of the college world. Especially since it's syllabus week and all of you college students should know what that means.

This article is basically just giving you and myself a few things to think about as we go through our daily lives as college students and back them up with a few bible verses. I could be wrong, but I heard that it only takes twenty-one days to start a habit so for twenty-one days keep these words in your heart and mind. After these days, you will, in theory, always think of them at least once. That's my prayer and challenge for you today. I pray you will always have these words etched on your heart and I challenge you to be set apart by these words.

1. Be courageous in the Lord and walk with Him.

Joshua 1:9“…Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

1 Kings 8:57 TheLord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us

Psalms 25:1-5 O you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me.Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. Make me to know your ways, O Lord;teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk

2. Remember to let your light shine. Be set apart!!!

Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

3. Gain knowledge in the Lord

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 17:27 Whoever restrains his words has knowledge,and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

4. Rest in the Lord

Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Isaiah 40:30-31 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you

5. Keep an attitude of humility and service.

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,

Titus 2:7-8 Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

Have a great year whether you're a college or high school student, someone in the work field, or just someone who reads articles on social media.
