5 Bits Of Advice For My Future Little
College Lifestyles

Dear Future Little,

First off, let me say that I already love you.

Second, I have five things I would like to say to you.

1. I want you to know that I will always be here for you.

Don't think that I'm saying that because I have to or because it's what every Big says to her Little. No, I mean it. I will always be here for you. I don't care if you are just bored and you need someone to talk to, or you have just had your heart broken again and you need someone to cry to. Call me, day or night.

2. I want you to feel like you can talk to me about anything.

I have a weird and open sense of humor, but I have also been through a lot, so I can give some dang good advice. If you come to me and I don't know what to tell you, then I'm going to look towards my Big and see if she can help. That's how this all works. We are a family. Me, your grand Big, great-grand Big, and so on. We are all here, and we all have been through enough at this point to help you through any and every situation you are stuck in.

3. I know it may not seem like it right now, but the world is so much bigger than this little piece of the earth you are surrounded by.

Your problems seem massive and everything seems so overwhelming all the time—I get it—but never forget that things could always be worse. So when you feel like you can't face your problems alone, come to me. We will face them together. Having someone by your side makes all the difference in the world.

4. Love is an amazing thing, but it's not the only thing.

When you tell a boy you love him, you better mean it. Playing with someone's heart is no small matter. That being said, you also need to realize that people don't always mean what they say. He may say that he loves you. He may say that you are the only one. He might be telling the truth, but he also might be lying. You need to be extra picky with who you give your heart to. If you have an off feeling about a guy, you shoot me his name and I will get to snooping. I promise!

Last, but not least.

5. Always be there for your sisters.

They saw something in you that made them love you in the very beginning of your journey with us, and you should never forget that. You need to make sure you are putting in effort with your relationships within the sorority because these ladies will be your sisters forever. It doesn't matter if you have been Alum for 10 years and you live 1,000 miles away, they are still your family. So go on those ice cream dates, have those sleepovers during the week, answer their calls during the random times throughout the day, text them and tell them how much you love them. It all matters and it all makes your time with them as active members so amazing.

Please read these things and always keep them in your heart and mind.

I love you, my future Little. I don't know when I will find you, but when that day comes, it will be the best day of my life.

Love,

Big

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
