Halloween is at the beginning of next week, so why not go ahead and plan something to do this weekend and on Halloween? Here are just some simple things that people often overlook because they are either simple or common! I hope you have a great time enjoying company with other people, whether it is with friends or family and that you would enjoy this season and holiday and make the best out of it this year!

1. Go to a local pumpkin patch!

Hop in the car and figure out where the local pumpkin patch is. Pumpkin patches often have animals you can pet, a corn maze, and some other various things depending on the venue. You can have the option of actually going to the field and picking a pumpkin or picking a pumpkin off of a table at the pumpkin patch store. I personally suggest going out to the field and picking the perfect one for you!

2. Carve or paint pumpkins!

Either carve or paint a pumpkin that you bought from the pumpkin patch or store. If you do not want to have a huge mess, I suggest that you just paint the pumpkin; if you do not mind having a big mess, then you probably would not mind carving. It takes a lot of effort to cut it, especially if it is a bigger pumpkin, but the result is definitely worth it! When you are carving without any stencils or picture, the best way is getting a Sharpie or some kind of marker and marking on the pumpkin before cutting so that way you have an idea of what it is going to look like and that way you do not mess it up while you are carving the image on the pumpkin out.

3. Do simple crafts.

Pinterest search some simple and inexpensive crafts to do with your family or friends one afternoon! You could even do it before Halloween to decorate your room or house.

4. Host a party.

It does not have to be a huge party! You could invite your best friends, or if you are doing it for the kids, you could invite their friends from their class at school. You could have the kids dress up in their Halloween costume and just have candy, finger foods, and possibly some games to go along with Halloween, depending on what type of party you are hosting.

5. Dress up!

Make Halloween fun and dress up as something! It does not have to be elaborate or big. It could be something simple, like dressing up as your best friend or dressing up as celebrity. You can use the clothes and other items that you already have so that way you do not have to worry about spending money for an outfit that you will wear only one time.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
