From the day I first met my cat, she became my best friend. This cat has been there for me through the good and the bad, and although I love everything about her, there's a few things that pop into my head when I think about her. Taco is a 12 year old black cat and words just cannot describe how much I love her. Here are five things that I love about the amazingly wonderful, Taco the Cat.
1. How Excited She Gets When She's About To Get A Treat.
Taco LOVES treats. Whenever she hears something that sounds like the container of treats, she runs into the room with wide eyes, meowing. Under no circumstances can I leave the container on my desk, however, because at night, while I'm fast asleep, I'll wake up to the sound of her attacking it.
2. How She Always Knows When I'm Not Okay.
I know what you may be thinking: "Cats could care less about their owner's feelings," blah blah blah. But take my word, this cat DOES. There have been times where I'd been crying in bed and she strolls right over, hops up and curls up next to me, almost as if she's trying to comfort me. Taco loves to snuggle -- but not all the time -- and whenever I'm feeling really upset, she always just happens to be there. Coincidence? Maybe. But either way, her curling up next to me always makes me feel better!
3. How She Feels The Most Comfortable With Me.
My cat can be very irritable when anyone else tries to pick her up or give her hugs and kisses, but with me, she seems so content and happy. She doesn't mind when I pet her for a really long time, or give her a whole bunch of kisses -- she just purrs. When I bought her her first collar, I thought she'd be fussy when I put it on, but exactly the opposite, she actually seemed happy with the stylish new gift she got from me. If it was anyone else that tried giving her a hug, or tried petting her for too long though, that's another story.
4. How I Never Have to Worry When She Goes Outside.
Taco loves the outdoors. She loves to walk around the neighborhood whenever she can and get some fresh air. Rather than forcing her to stay inside 24/7, we let her out whenever she sits by the door, meowing, because she always comes back home before it's dark. I just want her to have a great life, and if going outside makes her happy, why take that from her? She's a good cat, and we never have to worry about her running away or leaving the neighborhood.
5. How She Never Stops Loving Me Even When I'm Not Around.
When I moved into my dorm here at Rhode Island College, I was scared that Taco would forget about me or act completely different when I came home, but I can tell she misses me and that nothing has changed. Apparently when I'm not there, she still sleeps in my bed. And when I come home for the weekend, she seems so happy to see me. Last night, she even stayed curled up near my chest the whole time I was asleep. She refused to leave my side since the second I got home.
