5 Things Bookworms Know To Be True

Every book is filled with a story. Some stories will hook the reader more than others, but if your girl is truly a book lover, she'll finish a book that doesn't interest her at some point--even if it takes a few weeks. Nowadays, people are too busy looking all over social media to put down their phones and pick up a book. Even books have come in an electronic version thanks to devices like the Kindle and the Nook. Here are 5 things that happen when you give your book-loving girl, a book.

1. She'll disappear for hours at a time

Most of the time, I'm hiding in my room reading away, and I won't come out for hours. Even if I'm sitting right next to you, I'm not actually there. I'm lost somewhere within this book, but anyone who knows me knows better than to interrupt.

2. We cry over characters that don't exist

I'm guilty of reading the Harry Potter Series MULTIPLE times, and every time J.K Rowling kills the characters who have found their way into my heart, I cry every time. It's truly a mess

3. Sometimes you don't want a series to end

You dedicate all of this time to read book after book of the same story that continues on within 3-7 books (depending on the series) that when you finally finish the last book, you no longer know what to do with yourself.

4. You know you're most likely drinking Starbucks while reading your book

Reading is not complete without a cold or hot drink (I prefer cold.) There is a Starbucks located inside of every single Barnes and Nobles. So if you're a book worm, you know Starbucks is your choice of coffee.

5. There's a love/hate relationship with Barnes and Nobles

I love Barnes and Nobles. That store is my happy place... until I end up getting 5 more books than I originally had planned to walk out with. Once I get in my car, I've realized what I've done and I instantly hate myself.

Not many people can say they know someone like this. Books have died out to most of society and they're no longer a thought in some people's minds. While you spend all of your money on the latest electronics while I go drown myself in papers filled with words that tell endless stories.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
