Blair Waldorf, or better known as Queen B, was the center of all of our attention for years, as we followed her fabulous life on Gossip Girl. We were with her through all of the schemes, frenemies, and heartbreaks, and somewhere along the way she taught us a few pretty valuable lessons.

1. Never be afraid to speak your mind, and definitely never hold back.

Blair is known for being ruthless, rude, and insulting. While she is constantly offending her peers, we should all admire her brutal honesty. It takes a special person to never be afraid to say exactly what's on their mind. In fact, this trait of pure bluntness is something we should all aspire to have. In the end, it is always better to speak your mind than hold everything in to please those around you.

2. You control your fate.

Some people believe they have their lives planned out for them, and they're just along for the ride. Yes, maybe everything happens for a reason, but Blair believes that reason is none other than the actions you take each day. The queen of the Upper East side has convinced us that you should never simply accept defeat. If something goes wrong in your life, make it right.

3. Don't stop until you get what you deserve.

Blair always had so much potential and opportunity, which came with a plethora of goals and aspirations. Ivy league schools, dream jobs, secret societies, the list goes on. While some of these ambitions were more farfetched than others, Blair sincerely believed she deserved to achieve them. We should all do everything in our power to get what we know we are entitled to, and we should always feel entitled to what we want.

4. Know your worth, and let everyone else know, too.

Confidence is key. As Blair took her crazy, wild ride into adulthood, it seemed as though there was something to knock her down every step of the way. Not only was she able to pick herself back up and carry on, but she was always able to remind herself just how much she has to offer the world. If there's one thing Blair taught us, it's that you have to be your own biggest fan.

5. Always love with your whole heart.

Perhaps the most memorable piece of the entire Gossip Girl series was the twisted relationship that is Chuck and Blair. No matter what warped, inhumane thing one of them did to the other, there was no stronger bond. And, while it took Blair quite some time to give up her heart, she was finally able to love Chuck with every single part of her. Blair taught us that soul mates exist. There is someone out there who was put on this earth to be with you, and when you find them, give them all of you.

Thank you Queen B, xoxo

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
