While most people these days tend to enjoy "Netflix and chill", I am more of a fan of "Netflix and finish a whole series in less than two weeks." I mean I am dedicated to the game. That don't-leave-your-bed-until-you're-17-episodes-deep type of dedicated.
I recently finished all 10 seasons and 236 episodes of Friends and no, I'm not okay. I'm really suffering.
Here are the 5 stages that we all experience when finishing an awesome Netflix show. Just remember: don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
1. Denial
The end is near. You are accidentally-on-purpose oblivious to the fact that you are on the last season. Eh, oh well. Keep plowing through the episodes, because maybe if you don't acknowledge the end, it will never come.
2. Anger
You are approaching the end of the last season and are for a brief time filled with anger and confusion. WHY DIDN'T THEY MAKE MORE SEASONS? HOW COULD THEY JUST STOP? THESE DAMN ACTORS ARE SO SELFISH. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS TO ME.
3. Sadness
Maybe your pace starts to slow down as realize that your source of entertainment and happiness is soon going to come to an end. You try and truly savor every minute of every episode. Everything is awful. This stage is a highly sensitive time. I don’t want to talk about it.
4. Acceptance
Maybe everything’s gonna be okay? You realize that you can probably find another show to watch. All good things must come to end.
5. Moving On
This process involves a lot of trial and error. You may find yourself dabbling in different shows in hopes of finding a show as great as the previous one. At first, it may feel as though nothing will be able to fill the void, but don't worry. You will soon find a new series to satisfy your addiction and will have to endure this vicious cycle once more. (: Fun!!
Good luck out there. Stay strong.
