Fall - nearly every person's favorite season. The leaves are changing, we're switching from iced coffee to pumpkin spice lattes, and switching our crop tops for cozy sweaters. Much like we change our lifestyles when we feel that slight chill in the air, we also change our music. We switch from upbeat electronic dance tunes that are perfect for those late night summer parties, and switch it to something soft and soulful, something that one could expect to hear playing in their favorite coffee shop. Below are five songs that have made their way onto my current fall playlist, and hopefully your's too.
1. Fall Together by The Temper Trap
Though this song has absolutely nothing to do with fall, with a name like "Fall Together", I couldn't help but add it to my fall 2016 playlist. Not to mention the fact that the album artwork reminds me of nothing but Halloween.
2. Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood
Another add based on the title. No further explanation needed.
3. Ready to Start by Arcade Fire
An oldie but a goodie. This 2011 track is an anthem to all of those who are being put down by "The Man". It's a rallying cry for those who are ready to start living their own life and stop doing what others tell them to do. The overall message is one that I think we could all do well to remember as we start a new school year.
4. Apple Cider, I Don't Mind by Modern Baseball
Though there are no mentions of apple cider in this track, it does touch on an old relationship gone bad. It delivers a sense of nostalgia, one that's reminiscent of previous events. Nothing like falling leaves and sad music to make you think about the past, good or bad.
5. Gum by Moose Blood
This song was added purely because of the cover art. The bonfire just makes me think about all of those chilly fall nights with friends. Again, another song that doesn't directly relate to fall, but a great song for this time of year nonetheless.
