To me, what makes a good show is a character that people want to be friends with and a plot that makes people interested in that character's life. A lot of shows get this completely wrong, but some get it so right. Here are some of my favorite shows to binge watch this semester for no reason other than that they are utterly awesome.

1. Stranger Things

Out of all the new Netflix shows that have recently been added, “Stranger Things” is a must see new series with a 9.1/10 on IMDb and a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. The first season is an easy eight episodes that tell the story of what happens when a little boy goes missing in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Not only does the show have an addicting plot line, but also a killer cast featuring, Winona Ryder. The story centers around 4 young kids that perfectly remind me of the Goonies. Due to unexplainable events, friends and family come together to search for the missing child. Do yourself a favor and binge watch this show, for sure.

2. The Night Of

Now that everyone’s favorite HBO show on Sunday nights is over, I have the perfect thing to cure your withdraw. “The Night Of” is an eight episode limited series that has everything you want. Ranking a 9.1/10 on IMDb and a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes it’s a must see. The show follows Naz Khan, a young Pakistani-American male that wakes up one morning to find the girl he is with, murdered. The hour-long episodes capture every aspect of his time at Rikers Island and the night of the murder. The mix of accurate racial profiling and a realistic prison lifestyle makes for an intriguing dynamic. Don’t miss out on this mysterious TV drama.

3. Mr. Robot

With the Emmy Awards right around the corner, it's time to catch up on all the top nominees. With four nominations including, Outstanding TV Drama, “Mr. Robot” has definitely made a statement. Both actors, Rami Malek and Christian Slater have made “Mr. Robot” the hit it has become. With season two coming to an end I’m more hooked than ever to this mind-numbing series. When a team of vigilante hackers recruits Elliot Anderson, he learns more than he ever expected. What starts out as a simple hack, turns into a worldwide issue. Make sure to get all caught up before the Emmy Awards next month.

4. Friday Night Lights

A little TBT action for you is in honor of football season starting up. “Friday Night Lights” is a classic production of high school football and all that goes with it. All five seasons are ready for you on Netflix to pump you up for football season. The show follows Coach Taylor and his Texas high school team as they fight their way to states. Like any good TV show, “Friday Night Lights” is filled with all the drama that comes with being on a team and living in a small town. If you haven’t seen this show, rated 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, you might as well start now.

5. Silicon Valley

If you are looking for some good comic relief to get you through going back to school, Silicon Valley is just what you need. This HBO success has actually been nominated for seven Emmys this year, including Outstanding Comedy series. You are sure to get hooked to this dynamic cast and hilarious writing. Silicon Valley follows a start up company, Pied Piper, as they struggle to get off the ground. The witty banter of these awkward, but great coding engineers will keep you addicted and awaiting season four next year.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
