People who know me, know that I love a few things: 1. Morganization (my version of organization, you will hear more about it later) 2. Camp and 3. Romantic Comedies. They are practically the only type of movies that I watch and they just make me so happy. I figured I would share my love of romantic comedies with the world and recommend a few of my favorites that you may not have seen before. I tried to stray away from the basics chick flicks, these movies can be seen by anyone, not just someone who wants a date night in.

1. "Playing It Cool” (2013) Starring Chris Evans and Michelle Monaghan.

It is about a man who is against anything cheesy and cliche and ends up falling for a girl who changes his whole mentality about love and everything romantic.

It is a totally different spin on a romantic comedy and will make you laugh out loud. This is a great recommendation for the guy who is in love with his girl best friend and wants some encouragement that she will choose him in the end. It also has some pretty serious moments in the movie that add depth to the movie. This is my favorite rom-com of all time and I could watch it for days on end and still enjoy it.

2. "The Holiday” (2006) Starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.

It is a Christmas movie but it is also so much more than that. Two women are at low points in their love lives and decide to randomly swap houses over Christmas, all the way across the country, and they end up falling in love with complete strangers. This is a hilarious, super cliche, and very cute movie for the person who is willing to do anything for love and likes taking risks. It leaves life up to chance and makes you believe a little more in fate.

3. "The Princess Bride” (1987) Starring Cary Elwes and Mandy Patinkin.

I know there are a lot of people who have seen this movie, but they have not watched it in the "rom-com" light. Most people have seen it through the "adventure/comedy" light. I believe that this movie has violence, adventure, horror, and comedy, but at the root of it, it is a love story. This movie is perfect to watch with anyone. It has sword fighting, poisoning, and one of the most remarkable stories of love that has ever been told in cinema. Their love is unconditional and amazing. It is one of my all time favorite movies (I have another list that is just rom-coms) and really does a great job of showing "twu wuv."

4. "Serendipity” (2001) Starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.

This is an older movie that is also about taking risks in love and leaving your life up to fate. It is about two people who are in love with different people and they randomly meet in the middle of a department store and end up spending the entire night talking and laughing. He wants to see her again and she says that if it is meant to be, it will be. Watch and find out if it is meant to be, I guarantee that it will take you on an emotional roller coaster like no other. It is a lovely film that is borderline unrealistic but leaves you with a sliver of hope that it could be realistic. It has definitely made me a believer in all things serendipitous. This came out in 2001 along with "Bridget Jones's Diary", "Princess Diaries", and other very popular romantic comedies, which is why I put it on this list because I think it was underrated for it's time.

5. "About Time” (2013) Starring Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams.

This movie is about time-traveling, family, falling in love, and making big decisions. It is also a roller-coaster ride of emotions, but it portrays true love within your family, and with your significant other, very well. An amazing story, and a very creative movie at that. One of my best friend’s favorite movies and definitely a “must-add” to your watchlist. It is sweet, sad, and all around superb at displaying what it means to love someone.

I hope that you enjoy these movies as much as I do. There are obviously way more out there, but I wanted to give you a not so “basic white girl” list of fantastic rom-coms that do a great job at restoring your faith in all things funny and romantic.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
