5 Restaurants You Have To Go To In Green Bay
Greater Green Bay Directory

As a college student I eat a lot of my meals at the cafeteria at school, and the rest I try to cook myself as much as possible because I love the feeling of making myself a delicious home cooked meal. Once in a while I like to go out to eat with my friends at restaurants around Green Bay, so here's a list of 5 restaurants in the Green Bay area you should give a try!

1. The Pancake Place

This diner is a must for college students because they give you a lot of food for a small price, and you almost always leave with leftovers! My favorite thing on their menu is their pancakes. One single pancake is plenty because it's as big as your face. The have different fillings for their pancakes, such as chocolate chip or banana and nuts. For those of you who don't like pancakes, they also have a variety of sandwiches, breakfast combos, omelets, soups, salads, and dinners. When I go with my friends we can all find something on their menu we like.

2. Kavarna

I've only been there once, but it seems to be THE coffee house of Green Bay. It's the perfect place to go if you want to get some studying done without interruptions because the majority of the people there are on their computers too. They have a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, and if you get hungry during your study session they have some great sandwiches you can order or you can get a sweet treat from their bakery section.

3. Redwood Inn

You can't live in Wisconsin without appreciating a good ole fish fry on a Friday night and Redwood Inn is a great place to go for a fish fry! The bar was voted best fish fry in the Best of The Bay 2016. If you go there be prepared to wait a while to get a table because the fish fry is very popular, so the wait can be around two hours at times. The food is well worth the wait, and while you're waiting you can have a few drinks at the bar and admire the Packer memorabilia around the restaurant.

4. Smart Cow

I'm a huge fan of frozen yogurt and Smart Cow is THE place to go to for froyo in Green Bay. There are two locations in Green Bay. Otherwise they are nonexistent in Wisconsin. Just like any other frozen yogurt shop, they have a variety of different flavors and toppings that everyone's sure to find something they like. Smart Cow will always be my favorite place to go for a treat because I just love frozen yogurt so much!

5. Titletown Brewery

Titletown can be a little expensive for the average college student, but if you want to treat yourself it's a fun place to go. They are known for their beer they brew themselves and when it comes to food they have some pretty good burgers on their menu. When I go there I don't really go for the food. I go there more so for the atmosphere because it definitely showcases what Green Bay, commonly known as Title Town, is all about.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
