1. Data Destroyer
Unless you are one of the few lucky people who are blessed with an unlimited supply of the magical data, then Pokemon Go is not for you. When you walk around aimlessly searching for Pokemon, or battling people in gyms, you are always searching for other people's devices and you always have your GPS location on. The game is pretty much a ticking time bomb for going over your data limit and I promise you, nobody wants to pay an extra chunk of money to catch 22 Pidgeys.
2. Pokestop equals no stop
Now if you know anything about Pokemon GO it's that Pokestops are very valuable. You also know that they are the same for every player who is playing the game. This means that as you stop places, other people are going there too, to collect pokeballs, maybe get a few potions or an egg to hatch. While this may seem cool to meet people who have a similar interest as you, it's also very dangerous because that means that predators can hunt down people just by knowing where the Pokestops are. That thought doesn't exactly make me want to go Pokemon hunting in the middle of the night. If you are playing the game, be very observant of the people around you at Pokestops. The same concept applies to lures, which are exactly as they sound, they lure players into catching that Pokemon, please be very careful as they can be very dangerous as well.
3. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS
This message is very clearly displayed on the loading screen of the game but that doesn't really seem to stop people from swerving while driving or running into telephone poles on a bike. While the game is a quite cool concept, you must keep your eyes on where you're going whether driving or walking. The game has been out for about a some time now, and there have already been numerous stories of people getting hit by cars while crossing streets and people getting into fender benders while playing the game. No level 564 Charmander is worth your life, or a hospital bill. So, as you guys play, please be aware of your surroundings and don't drive and play for not only the safety of yourself, but also of others.
4. Technology Takeover
While Pokemon GO does get its players outside and walking, it also leaves them glued to their phone screens like a moth to a flame. This is exactly what our parents have been fighting us about. Yes you are outside, but you aren't truly taking in the outdoors, you are too busy throwing pokeballs at imaginary creatures. I'm not sure about every one else, but going out with friends and having to stop every 5 seconds to look for Pokemon is not my ideal version of fun. For the record, let me also add that if I were ever on a date and they whipped their phone out for a Pokemon, I would leave, I would leave at a sprinting pace. There's nothing worse than trying to be around people who will not get off their phones. Guys, put the Pokemon away and actually spend time with people. Your virtual world can wait and no Pokemon is worth the moments you are missing here on actual planet Earth.
5. Bad Judgement Calls
I'm not entirely sure if this game is brainwashing its players or people are really that desperate to shove an imaginary animal into an imaginary ball, but people have just up and lost their minds. Players are losing all sense of judgment while playing this game, they are hopping fences into private property and some people have even broken into stores at night to get a Pokemon. The results of these actions are getting people sued and put in jail along with other punishments. I'm not 100 percent sure when breaking and entering was justified by a mobile game, but times are changing I guess. In all seriousness, people need to get themselves together and realize this is just a game, it is not worth the extra money, accidents, injuries or jail time, so play safe, play smart and happy hunting!
