Who can say no to caffeine?

5 Reasons Why Coffee Is The Best
Allison Pericles

If you're anything like me, you simply cannot live without coffee. Without it, you sluggishly move through your day, barely able to perform basic humanly stuff. The coffee bean has become the biggest symbol of energy, and here are few of the many reasons why we just can't get enough java.

1. It wakes us up.

Okay, I know this one is really obvious, but in a world that tugs us in 10 different directions, a little extra power goes a long way. Staying up until 3 am writing a paper? No problem. Just take a few swigs of coffee in the morning and you're good to go!

2. It's diverse.

Lattes and mochas and frappuccinos, oh my! You can literally get any flavor or size of coffee, hot or cold! Not to mention, a new wave of drinks crashes in with the change of every season. This means pumpkin spice lattes in the fall, and s'mores frappuccino in the summer.

3. Coffeehouses are super chill.

Coffeehouses are on the list of the most relaxing places on the face of our earth in my opinion. Between the lingering scent of coffee in the air and the go-with-the-flow attitude of the people around you, coffeehouses are the place to be whether you're getting some homework done or catching up with friends.

4. It's actually pretty good for you.

Believe it or not, coffee has its health benefits! Plain 'ol black coffee is very low in calories and high in antioxidants. Coffee also helps prevent Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes, liver disease, liver cancer, and heart problems.

5. We don't have to leave our house for it.

Lucky for us, coffee can be made at home and tailored to our hearts' whims thanks to advanced developments in coffee machines. Plus, it fills our homes with that wonderful caffeine smell that lasts for a whole day.

If I'm being honest, I could go on and on about the wonderful things coffee has to offer us, but you'd be reading this forever, and I'd be writing for longer than that. My point is that there's endless reasons to love coffee-and every single one is a great excuse to pick up a cup of joe in the morning!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
