Going out to eat at your favorite restaurants though fun can sometimes get old. You go, you sit, you chat, you eat, you leave and then repeat the following weekend.

Don't get me wrong, after a long week of work or school, it can be nice to go and not have to worry about meal prep or cleaning. However, a night in for two shouldn't be so easily overlooked.

Here are 5 plus sides of making a homemade, romantic dinner with your bae.

1. You can make an array of random dishes.

Do they necessarily go together? Maybe not, and thats okay. Whip up a few of your favorites and spend the night laughing over the interesting combination you created.

2. You learn new dishes (or how to cook).

I've never been amazing at cooking but making dinner with my boyfriend is a fun way for me to learn all the cooking techniques. I come out of the evening with a delicious dish and skills to last a lifetime.

3. It is rewarding.

You know those fish tacos you order at your favorite Mexican restaurant? Well, your homemade fish tacos will taste even better because of all the hard work you put into making them.

4. One word. Leftovers!!

If there is one thing I love about cooking, it is leftovers. Not only is your dish going to be amazing the first night, but it's going to be even more fantastic the next three!

5. It's fun!

What better place to get to know your date then in the kitchen? Food is fun and making it can be pretty funny, especially if you are both equally clueless on how to make the dish. Bring out the food puns and prepare yourself for a laughter filled evening.

So next time you think you have to go out for a date night, think again! Bon Appetit!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
