Out of the many superheroes, there are a few that just stand out. My personal favorite is your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Here is a list of 5 reasons why Spider-Man is one of the greatest superheroes ever.
1. Intelligence
Among his many abilities, Spider-Man is an intelligent scientist. He invented his web shooters along with the web fluid. His intelligence allows him to cleverly strategize against his enemies at a moments notice.
2. Haters
Spider-Man was one of the first, if not the first super hero to have many of the people he set out to protect hate him. His biggest hater being one of the most influential publishers in America, J. Jonah Jameson. Jameson had the resources to express his hate for Spider-Man and sway much of the public against him. Being able to continue the super hero life through such hate is respectable.
3. The Plot
While there are many different Spider-Man story lines, I recognize Spider-Man the Animated Series (1994) as the original. The plot in this show is amazing. It shows how his experiences change him over time, it details the consequences of his mistakes, it gives insight to why many of the heroes and villains choose the path that they did rather than every character being good or bad by nature, and it has interesting scientific information.
4. His Life
Spider-Man has had it rough. His parents were killed in a plane crash, his uncle Ben was shot, his best friend was turned into the green goblin and hated Spider-Man and his girlfriend was sucked into a time-dilation portal. That's a lot for anyone to deal with, but along with that he is a superhero, a photographer, and a college student (which is another burden in itself). How he managed to juggle being a super hero while working a job and going to college is amazing. Being a college student is hard enough with all the homework assignments, essays and exams. Many of us are ready to pull our hair out because of school. Add work to that equation and the stress levels rise now imagine stopping crooks and fighting villains along with that. Anyone who thinks that's an easy task is insane. Which is why Spider-Man's the best.
5. His Powers
Spider-Man's powers are quite amazing. He has super strength, speed (not super speed but quicker reflexes than a normal human), enhanced coordination and agility, ability to stick to virtually any surface, and his spider sense (ability to sense movement, danger, and his surrounding environment). Many of these abilities are unique to him as a superhero.
These along with many others are the reasons I think Spider-Man's the best super hero ever.
