This article is strictly my opinion and please don't take this article to heart if you have one of these elves.
1. They are just creepy looking.
Seriously, that creepy smile and those eyes that seem to always be looking at you. That is not something to get excited about.
2. They are sold in stores
I'm sure children ask their parents why "their elf" is being sold in stores. At least Santa isn't sitting on a shelf in Target, Walmart, or Books A Million.
3. Bad Influence
These elves are messing up the house, swinging from ceiling fans, and toilet papering the Christmas tree. Of course kids are going to think , "if the elf can do it, so can I."
4. Takes Away From Christmas
Yes, it may be "fun", but all kids are focused on is "when is my elf going to come?" or "where will it be tomorrow?" They're not fully focused on the true meaning of Christmas, just on an elf that "flies away" every night.
5. They are never on a shelf
What is the the point in having an "Elf on the Shelf" if it's just going to be hanging from the ceiling or putting toothpaste all over the mirror.
Sorry to be negative but this is my opinion on these scary, plush elves.
