These fast-food chains are known for their big-portioned choices and their health effects when consumed in excess. That's right, McDonald's and Wendy's are infamous for their big burgers, fries, and soft drink meals (or combos). They also have chicken nuggets, salads, and breakfast menus. McDonald's has been sued by customers for the negative health impact it's had on consumers, especially weight gain, increased blood pressure, or increased risk of diabetes or heart disease. Wendy's food menu is similar to that of McDonald's, so why is McDonald's better?
1. They provide coffee.
That's right, McDonald's has coffee items on their menu while Wendy's does not. When you're in that rush to get to work and aren't able to do it yourself, you can turn to McDonald's to get that done for you.
2. McDonald's has Happy Meals.
While Happy Meals are better suited for younger kids, it's an advantage that McDonald's has so customers don't have to order more than they want to.
3. All-Day Breakfast.
You do you, my good friend. It is not required for anybody to eat "dinner food" at dinner, or "lunch food" at lunch. You can eat your meals how you want to and nobody should be judged for that. Get an Egg McMuffin at dinner and that still suffices as a meal any time of the day. Wendy's breakfast only goes until 11AM.
4. More bang for the buck.
McDonald's prices are overall cheaper than Wendy's, especially with their larger burger meals. You could get a 20-piece Chicken McNuggets meal for less than $8 at the McDonald's on Wooster Street (total cost is ~$7.50; the nuggets themselves are $5) where Wendy's does not offer a 20-piece set. To get 20 chicken nuggets at Wendy's, they come in separate sets of 10. McDonald's meals, especially off the extra-value menu, also come in a default medium size, where Wendy's default size is a small. Their respective menus are here: http://www.fastfoodmenuprices.com/mcdonalds-prices... (McDonald's) and http://www.fastfoodmenuprices.com/wendys-prices/ (Wendy's). McDonald's has fewer menu options that cost higher than $7 when ordered in full-meal or full-combo options.
5. McDonald's has a better slogan.
"I'm lovin' it" vs" vs. "It's waaaay better than fast food. It's Wendy's". Advantage, McDonald's.
6. McDonald's is prepared better.
McDonald's sandwiches and burgers are prepared in a way that the chicken and beef patties are not too big, yet they fit the burger or sandwich. On the other hand, Wendy's burgers and sandwiches have larger and stockier patties and they're so juicy that while it tastes just fine, the oils drip out as you are eating it. According to Business Insider, Wendy's and McDonald's are neck-and-neck, but McDonald's is better in terms of preparation. Using the McDonald's Quarter-Pounder compared to the 1/4 pound Hot n' Juicy Cheeseburger from Wendy's, the following quote was made:
