Five Reasons Boone Is The Perfect College Town

1. The scenery.

Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, Boone, North Carolina is a breathtaking town during any season.

2. You will never run out of things to do.

Whether you take a trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway, ski down Beech Mountain, or tube on the New River, Boone offers unlimited outdoor adventures. But that's not all. Grab a ticket to the Appalachian Summer Festival or take a stroll down King Street and stop inside the Mast General Store. This town is full of culture and activities, which will have you constantly entertained.

3. The food.

Boone takes pride in their local businesses, in particular, restaurants. From soul food to southwest flavor, there is no way you will go hungry in a town bursting with authentic cuisine found on every corner. Beware, the freshman 15 is very real when you are surrounded with food like this.

4. The school.

Appalachian State is home to one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, not to brag. We have been nationally recognized for our success in graduate and undergraduate academics, and 150 degree programs. With 18,000 students you are able to experience the large university lifestyle with a small town feeling. It's the best of both worlds.

5. Feels like home.

You will find it hard not to fall in love with this town. Boone is rich in Southern culture and hospitality. A piece of your heart will be captured forever when spending your four years in this home away from home.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
