All of us, at some point or another, have ordered from a fast food restaurant, some of us more frequently than others. It’s good, convenient and quick. However, we don’t often think about what it’s like on the other side of the counter unless we’ve been there. Here are a few specific people fast food workers can’t stand.
Person #1: coming in to order right before closing.

This is one of the most irritating things I’ve experienced. We’re just minutes away from being able to start cleanup and go home, when a group of more than five people come in to order. I can guarantee the people working hate you with a fiery passion.
Person #2: complaining about something you can’t change.
It’s not my fault that the deal is only valid at participating locations, or that the menu has gone up in price since you were last here. You getting sassy and disrespectful only makes me less patient and the clock move slower. So please, just tell me what I can get you.
Person #3: extremely complicated order.
Being picky myself, I don’t mind when someone comes in with a picky order. But when you want a medium combo but a small drink, and can you make the chicken grilled not fried, and can you take off everything but ketchup? On my screen, I only have so many buttons. If I don’t have a button for your request, I have to find a shift manager to help or go to the back and tell them specifically what you want. So please, do your best to make the order as simple as you can tolerate.
Person #4: *after order is placed* “Oh yeah, can I get a large, instead?”
No, you can’t, because you already placed the order. I can’t just give you a large. But you have no problem pitching a fit when I say so. It’s not my fault you didn’t articulate what you wanted.
Person #5: “What do you mean you don’t have it, this is what I always get? Can you check again?”
Sometimes we run out of things. Or different locations have limited menus, especially on college campuses. So checking again just makes the line longer and my smile faker.
