With the new, phenomenal movie "Southpaw" in theaters right now, we all have come to the realization that we LOVE BOXING. Like, what is not hotter than a guy going ham on another guy while their even hotter significant other is on the sidelines cheering him on?
For right now, we can't watch and re-watch "Southpaw" without dropping a good amount at the movie theaters, but there are plenty other movies that we can binge-watch while we wait.
1. "Never Backdown"
Hottie Jake, aka Sean Faris, has an anger issue due to the fact that his father passed away in a very public drunk driving accident while Jake was also in the car. His family moves to Orlando where he meets Baja and instantly falls in love, but there's a twist. She is dating a crazy boy who started the biggest underground teenage fight club, which is cool until he wants to beat the shit out of Jake. It's a must see for boys and girls alike.
2. "Million Dollar Baby"
Who knew Hilary Swank was such a badass? She plays Maggie Fitzgerald, who comes from a low-income family but wants to make a difference in her life. She contacts Frankie, a hardened boxing coach who sees her potential and takes her on. His motto is, "Always, always protect yourself."
3. "Fight club"
"What's the rules of fight club?" This movie about an insomniac and a salesman is one of the best ever. The two men end up starting an underground fight club for bored men to fight off the anger of their mundane lives. But of course, a woman breaks them off and scandal arises. It's a movie that will change your life.
4. "Cinderella Man"
Set during the Great Depression, J. Braddock (Russel Crowe) was an ex-boxer until his boss convinces him to fight one more time. An upset was expected, but Braddock brings his A game and opens a can of whoop ass. He decides to go back full-time and is called "Cinderella Man," because he went from a nobody to a somebody. It's a movie that makes you anxious and want to cry, but it's a good one.
5. "Rocky" 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5
Because who doesn't love when he yells "ADRIANNNNNEEEE," or runs up the steps to "Eye of the Tiger?" Gets better every time you watch it.
