A Few Unfortunate Products

1.) Kylie Lip Kits: About a year ago, I gave into the hype and tried a couple of these lip kits. They do smell amazing, but after awhile my lips were completely dried out. I’m not sure if my lips were already dry, but I’m pretty sure that it was the lip kit. The two I have tried are Dolce K and Candy K. Dolce K is a pretty color, but again dries out my lips. Candy K isn’t very opaque and I don’t like that at all. I have to do a few layers for it not to look see-through. I wouldn’t say that these are worth the money, I would rather go with a Colourpop ultra matte.

2.) MAC Fluidline Liner: I was recommended this product and was really excited to try it. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed. I noticed after wearing it throughout the day, it would smudge and get in the corner of my eyes. I’m still on the hunt to find a good fluid liner that won’t smudge. I guess I really expected more from the product due to the price, but it’s honestly not my favorite.

3.) Elf Intense Ink Eyeliner: Now I know that there’s a few different versions of this, but the one that I don’t like is in a thicker tube. I decided to try this out since it was only three dollars, and I only got to use it for so long. The tube dried out so quickly, I was really disappointed. Apparently, this is a new product and I’m not a huge fan. Now I do hear that the regular elf eyeliner workings amazingly, so maybe that would work better.

4.) Loreal Lumi Highlighter: I decided to try the pink color of the Loreal lumi, just to see if it would work well. I didn’t really like it only because it didn’t last through the day and I feel like you could barely see it on my face. I used the liquid kind, and it just didn’t impress me. Now I use a highlighter from mac and tarte that work very well, much more expensive but I would recommend those.

5.) Maybelline Master Conceal: My best friend said she tried this concealer and it SUCKED. She said that it didn’t blend well and it even cracked and creased on her skin. The color selection is horrible and comes in a weird squeeze tube. This is a cheap product, but don’t waste your money on this one.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
