After a long nine months of enduring the emotions that come with watching “Grey’s Anatomy,” I finally finished! It has made me laugh. It has made me cry. It has made me sob. And even has made me want to throw my TV/computer out the window. Between Meredith’s darkness, Christina’s heartlessness and Bailey’s toughness and everything in between, “Grey’s Anatomy” demonstrates more than a basic appendectomy. I’ve learned some valuable life lessons along the way.
1. Sometimes you just need to dance it out for everything to be okay.
“You know what we need? 30-second dance party.” - Meredith Grey
2. Everyone is a little bit “dark and twisty.”
Don’t worry Meredith and Cristina totally get you! “As human beings, sometimes it’s better to stay in the dark, because in the dark there may be fear, but there’s also hope.” - Meredith Grey
3. Surround yourself with good people.
“The people that are still with you at the end of the day - those are the ones worth keeping. And sure, sometimes close can be too close. But sometimes, that invasion of personal space, it can be exactly what you need.” - Meredith Grey
4. Everybody needs a “person.”
“At the end of the day, when it comes down to it, all we really want is to be close to somebody.” - Meredith Grey
5. Life totally sucks sometimes, but you have the strength to pull through.
“It doesn’t matter how tough we are. Trauma always leaves a scar. It follows us home, changes our lives. Trauma messes everybody up. But, maybe, that’s the point. All the pain and the fear and the crap. Maybe going through that is what keeps us moving forward. It’s what pushes us. Maybe we have to get a little messed up before we can step up.” - Alex Karev
