Let's face it. You don't have a lot of money, and generic brands may seem like a way for you to save some of your hard earned cash. While that may be very true in some cases, here are five everyday items that you should definitely consider splurging on. Cue the list!
1. Ketchup

2. Peanut butter
Peanut butter is one of man's greatest inventions. There are many off brands that may be cheaper than Skippy. It's worth spending the extra dollar or two to buy Skippy peanut butter. Also, refrain from buying Jif. That's definitely a no go.
3. Trash bags
Imagine this: You're walking down your apartment stairs with your trash, and all of a sudden the trash bag breaks. If that sounds like possibly the worst experience possible, then just buy the trash bag that you know will be reliable. $2 isn't worth that hassle.
4. Cereal
Cereal is part of what one may argue is the most important meal of the day: breakfast. If your breakfast starts off poorly, then there is a good chance your day is going to go south as well. It also reduces the chance of you eating soggy cereal as well. Bleh!
5. Snacks
Don't get me wrong. There are some snacks that are perfectly able to be bought as generic. Ritz crackers, on the other hand, are not one of these cases. Snacks have a huge role in your day, so just buy the normal brand.
Do yourself a favor, and don't deprive yourself from some of life's greatest pleasures. Sometimes it is the littlest things that make the biggest difference in your life.
