It can be hard to find the perfect game to play with 3-8 college students that doesn’t center around alcohol. Here is a list of games to play that doesn’t revolve around drinking, helps you get to know who your friends really are, and allows you to form closer relationships with those that didn’t turn against you in order to win a game of Uno. I’m looking at you double draw four people. I’m looking at you.

1. Mario Kart - any of them

Who is the sore winner? Who is the sore loser? Who can’t take being hit by a blue shell when they've been leading the last four of five maps? Find out the answers to these questions by playing Mario Kart (8, get 8. It’s the best one). Tour the rainbow road with 8 of your closest friends, with the items list set the shells or bombs only. Find out who willing to let you fall to your fiery death just to claim first place (and in some cases second to last, but who’s counting!).

2. Cards Against Humanity

The most innocent of all of the games. You will be swooping for most of the game, planning out your responses to everyone else’s cards in order for yours to get picked. If you're a hardcore player, you already know the card with the silver letters always wins. If you don’t know what that card is, you must step you game up. Regardless, this game is perfect for family reunions and sparking controversial conversations in the workplace. Make sure to play with you boss, they’ll surely give you a raise after you defeat with with the biggest blackest dick (card).

3. Dirty Minds

Grab yourself a drink and Dirty Minds and prepare to have a good time. This game is perfect for after a stressful day and you just need time to laugh. Playing this game will show you which of your friends has the dirtiest mind, and which is possibly the most innocent out of the group- and it is not always who you think it is! Dirty Minds.

4. Uno

Want to find out who your real friends are? Break out the deck of cards and start hit your best friend with the draw 4 when they’re about to win the game. Allow yourself to completely let loose a little and skip the person who you believe is going to be the first to win. Allow your friendship to be strained on a 30 minute game. Watch as your friends become paranoid of one another while you sit tight and try and form alliances with your fellow ‘friends’.

5. Manhunt

It’s like hide and go seek, but leave your feelings at home. If you’re afraid of falling over rocks, twisting and ankle ot getting a cut- stay home. Gather 15 friends, split up into groups of threes and open the floodgates. The friendship is over. The people on the other teams no longer matter. All that matters is that your get your team to safety. Wear all black. Start the game at 10pm. Take no prisoners.

I hope these games prove helpful for you. They allow for us to step outside of our comfort zones, take alcohol out of the equation (if we choose), and enjoy sober fun. Play games that test your friendship on a different level. Play mind games and see who can keep up.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
