5 Easy DIY Mother's Day Gifts
Office Holidays

Finding the perfect gift for the people you care about isn't always the easiest of tasks. Money is tight, time is limited and what would that other person love? The thought is what really counts but to make you life a little more sane, I have picked out 5 do it yourself ideas that might be helpful, I'm actually doing one of them with my own twist!

1. Mom's Emergency Stash

This is a quick but great idea when money is tight and time is of the essence. With some simple supplies, you can give your mom her own stash of favorite candies and chocolates for when she's craving something sweet!

2. Mother's Day DIY Box of Chocolates

“Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get” and neither will your mom! Store bought assorted chocolates are great but they also include some your mom probably dislikes, plus they're expensive. If you're looking to save some extra money while giving your mom something she can enjoy fully, then this is the perfect gift for you! Fill this little box with all your mom's favorite candies with the added bonus of her own personalized gift box.

3. Mother's Day Gift In A Jar

This is one of my personal favorites. The project itself is a decorative jar with some of your mom's favorite things inside of it. It's perfect if you're looking to save some money but still give your mom something meaningful because it's simple to make and only requires a few things: a jar, a ribbon, and a tag of some sort. Feeling craftier, go nuts with this!

4. Mother's Day Mug

This is another of my favorites because my mom is a major coffee drinker. This project is probably the most simple of them all. All you'll need is a mug, a marker and an oven for this project. Pick one of your mom's favorite sayings and then write it on the mug, bake the mug in the oven and then you're good to go! It's meaningful and simple.

5. Mother's Day Spa Basket

Everyone likes to relax after a long day at work, especially moms. One of the best ways to relax is to take a nice, soothing bath. The only problem with that is store bought spa baskets are far too much money. Personally, it'd be cheaper to make yourself and you can customize it however you like.

Bonus Idea!

This is not an easy project but it is a meaningful one. This project allows you to create a personalized jewelry box for your mom. It's a beautiful box that features pictures of the family and a gorgeous mom bracelet with a lovely accompanying poem. I recommend doing this way ahead of time if you like the idea.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
