Spring break is in the air. How do I know this? Simple. Students everywhere, myself included, are cramming in midterm papers we knew about ages ago, we are avoiding studying for those "50 percent of our final grade" midterm exams, and we are trying to decide if we picked the right swimsuit online for upcoming trips.
Spring break trips in college can be fun and exciting, but as college students we are probably all in the same boat, we're going to be on a horribly long flight or long car ride. So I wanted to arm you with a couple go-to must reads for this spring break.
1. "I'll Give You The Sun" by Jandy Nelson
I kid you not, when I finished this book I had one of the worst cases of Post-Book-Depression (Its a real thing, don't even try to tell me its not.) probably since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Okay maybe not that bad, but it was bad is what I'm trying to tell you. This book will make you laugh, it will make you cry. You will not regret reading this book. Just do it. Please. For the love of good and well written young adult literature.
2. The D.U.F.F. by Kody Keplinger
Maybe you saw the movie that came out in February of 2015? Well in this case, the book is SO MUCH different, so its like you get two stories for the price of one. This book will make you laugh and it gives so much more depth than the movie does (no surprise there). This is a fun, easy read that you won't want to put down.
3. Bossypants by Tina Fey
No this is not a fiction book. But dang is it funny. I'm going to recommend the audiobook in this case, solely because TINA FREAKIN' FEY. Who doesn't love Tina Fey? This book has something for everyone. Just give it a try, trust me on this one. I was so upset when it was over!
4. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

5. Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld
With this book you get two books in one, that's right its 2-fer. Scott Westerfeld knows his sci-fi/fantasy stuff and he doesn't disappoint in this novel. Chapters alternate between the main character and the story that she is writing for publishing from her scenic New York apartment.
So there you go! 5 solid go to's if you're trying to figure out what to read during spring break. And I'll even throw in a bonus! I'm trying to decide my own spring break read, and currently I'm trying to decide between:
Carry on by Rainbow Rowell
OR
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
Happy reading and happy spring break 2k16!
