Mug recipes are the perfect little treat to satisfy your sweet tooth in just a few minutes. All of these recipes are so simple to make that anyone can make them! Here are just a few of my delicious favorites that I have acquired over the years!

1. Brownie in a Cup

-4 TBS flour

-4 TBS sugar

-2 TBS cocoa

-2 TBS oil

-2 TBS water

-1/3 TSP vanilla extract

Mix all of these ingredients into a mug and zap it in the microwave for one minute.

2. Peanut Butter Cookie in a Cup

-1 TBS butter

-1 TBS peanut butter

-1 TBS firmly packed brown sugar

-1 TBS white sugar

-2-3 drops vanilla extract

-Pinch of salt

-1 egg yolk

-3 TBS flour

Melt the butter, then add the sugar, salt, and vanilla and stir. Than add the egg yolk and flour and stir again. Zap it in the microwave for about 45 seconds.

3. Banana Mug Cake

-3 TBS flour

-3 TBS brown sugar

-1/2 TSP baking powder

-Dash of salt

-1 TBS melted butter

-1 egg, lightly beaten

-1 TBS milk

-1 banana (mashed)

-1/4 TSP vanilla

GLAZE

-1/4 cup brown sugar

-1 1/2 TBS butter

-1/4 TSP vanilla

-Splash of milk

Mix together your dry ingredients first, then add in butter, milk, banana, egg and vanilla until combined. Microwave for 3 minutes and set aside to cool.

For the glaze: Add all the ingredients in a bowl and microwave until it bubbles. After bubbling, stir all the ingredients together and drizzle over the top of the cake. Add sliced bananas on top if you would like!

-1 1/2 TBS plain dry oatmeal

-1 TBS sliced pecans

-1/4 TSP baking powder

-1/8 TSP salt

-1/4 TSP cinnamon (optional)

-Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

-1 TBS Nutella

Whisk olive oil, milk, and sugar in a mug. Then whisk in the flour, oats, pecans, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon and nutmeg, if you are using them. Put the nutella on top of the cake and apply some pressure so that it is partially submerged in the cake. Sprinkle pecans on the top. Zap in microwave for one minute.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
