We as women spend thousands of dollars a year on beauty supplies such as lotion, body wash, shaving cream, hair products, and makeup. My entire life I have been allergic to most beauty products due to the strange chemicals they put in them. Have you ever taken a moment to look at the ingredient list for your every day beauty products? You’ll be shocked to find you can’t pronounce more than half of the names and better yet, the list is normally 20 plus ingredients long. The shocking truth is that we have no idea what we are putting onto our skin and hair. Sadly you would not even know if it was harming you.
I decided to do some research to find out if their were more holistic ways to create the beauty products I consider a must have. I was shocked to find tons of recipes and ideas for making your own. I tried all of the ones I saw fitting and adjusted them to meet my standards. Here are 5 beauty hacks I found most fitting for every woman.
1. Sugar Scrub
Ingredients:
½ cup coconut oil
1 cup granulated sugar
1 Tablespoon mint extract
a few drops of food coloring
Put coconut oil in a bowl and heat in microwave for 15 seconds or until melted. Place in mixing bowl with sugar and mint extract, mix . Add food color of choice, mix well.
I found that this scrub works best for shaving. I put some on my legs before I shave and after, making them super soft. I also use different extracts for different smells (peppermint smells good) and color it however I want. This is also perfect for washing hands that are dry or cracked.

2. Hair Mask for Dry, Damaged, or Broken Hair
Ingredients:
Half of an avocado
½ cup of honey
1 Tablespoon Olive or Avocado Oil
Heat honey in the microwave for 20 seconds. Mash avocado in bowl, add honey and oil. Stir until mixed. Wet hair in the sink or bathtub. Place mixture in the middle of your hair and work down, focusing mainly of the ends. Place remaining on scalp, but be careful if your roots tend to be greasy. Put on shower cap and let sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Rinse in the shower with warm water and condition hair.
This really works for dry and damaged hair. I recommend using this once every two weeks.

3. Egg White Facial Mask for Marks and Acne
Ingredients:
1/3 cup egg whites or 2 to 3 eggs (separated from yoke)
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
Wisk eggs in a bowl until frothy. Mix in cinnamon. Wash face after with soap, pat dry. Apply a layer of mixture over face, let dry. Add two to three more layers allowing face to dry after each layer. Keep mask on face for 20 minutes then wash with warm water. Make sure the water is not too warm since you are working with eggs. Pat face dry.
This mask works for scars and acne. I use this mask once a week and see results within a day. Egg whites and cinnamon have been used for healing for centuries.
4.Headache and Neck Pain Reliving Oil
Past Tense is a doterra essential oil blend that relives headaches and tension. I put a little on my temples, behind my ears, and on my neck. I rub the oil in and lay down. This stuff really works and I have cut down on my Advil usage because of it.It costs around 24 dollars but I have had mine now for two years.

5. Lipstick Long Wear
Put on a layer or lipstick and blot it with a tissue. Apply a layer of translucent powder over the lipstick.Add a second layer of lipstick over the powder.
I have been using this hack with theatre shows since I was young. The lipstick will stay on for a long time and you won’t have to reapply as much. Adding lip liner will also help from bleeding as well.
