If you’re working full-time this summer and have a generous hour-long lunch break, then there are so many things you can do during this time other than eat lunch. I mean, real talk, when have you ever had an hour to just eat lunch? In high school, you had maybe 30 minutes to eat lunch; in elementary school, everyone wanted to eat super quickly so you could go to recess; and does anyone really even have time to eat lunch in college? Here are several ways to be as productive as possible and make the most of this allotted downtime.
1. Take A Jaunt
Going for a walk is a lovely way to re-energize. If your walk is scenic or through an aesthetically appealing environment, then the scenery could make this time even more appealing. If you work downtown, then the skyways are seriously endless and make it a great place to take a stroll. You could even get dessert or a treat during this jaunt because what could be more energizing than some added post-lunch calories?
2. Run Errands
If you’re working all day, then you’re going to be super tired and not be in the mood to run errands by the time your day at the office ends. There’s also the chance some stores you want to go to could be closed. Taking your lunch break to get some of these taken care of is a super productive way to complete your chores.
3. Work Out
This can be kind of ambitious for some people, especially if you sweat a lot or have a hard time bouncing back after a workout. However, if you’re someone who likes quick workouts, then fitting this into your lunch break isn’t a bad idea. A lot of buildings have gyms in the basement or nearby along with showers for this specific purpose. If you don’t have time to workout before or after work, then this might be a great option for you.
4. Treat Yourself
If you happen to be out of groceries and don’t have any food to pack your lunch, then going out is a great option. Or, if it’s Friday and you’ve had a hard week, then treating yourself by going out is another fabulous idea. Not only will this take up your hour-long break, but rewarding yourself is a great way to stay motivated and ensure you’ll be ready to come back to work and be productive next week.
