Logophile: a lover of words. We are all infatuated with something, and for me, my infatuation is words. I love the way one word is able to capture a feeling that should take thousands of words to explain. I love how strings of words can be put together to create magical scenes inside my head. I love how certain words make people squirm or smile or blush. There are so many things to love about words, and there are so many reasons you should love a logophile.

1. We will write about you.

Our hearts will long to fill pages with all of our favorite words to describe you. The words are never ending and we feel like we will never be able to get them all down- and we won't, but we will try. One day you will stumble across these pages, or maybe we will give them to you, and you will realize that our love for you compares to nothing else in the world. We love words and we love you, so what could be better than using one to define the other?

2. We appreciate your sweet words.

Most people would appreciate being complimented, but for logophiles, if you put in effort to form a beautiful sentence intended only for us, we are probably melting. It's hard to find the correct words to describe the way you're felling sometimes, and if you happened to stumble upon some that you think are worthy of me, I will dwell on those words for days as if they were the last ones I would ever hear.

3. We understand the world a little differently.

If we love words, we love books. My nose has been in a book since I was four and learned how to read. Books are literally bound pages filled with our favorite things. How could we not love them? Through reading these books, we have created worlds in our heads that will never be seen by the outside world. We might have all read the same book, but we all made it look different when we allowed the scenes to play out in our heads. Through experiencing other worlds, we have learned to look at ours a little differently.

4. We will never run out of things to talk about.

There will always be a new book we read or a new word we learned or maybe something someone said to us that we took a little too harshly because we take words very seriously. We will always have a new world to describe to you or a new poem to show you. You will never have to fear that we will run out of things to talk about because we open ourselves up to new stories and words every single day. It's just in our nature.

There are many reasons you should love a logophile, but these are the most important. But beware: words are our love language and you need to be prepared to give us affirmation of your feelings through words sometimes. We see the beauty in things, and if you get to know us, you will see the beauty in us. If you run across a logophile, don't pass us up. I promise you it will be worth it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
