When I first went out for Greek life I was most excited to get a Big. I'm the oldest of three girls and I always wondered what it would be like if I had an older sister. It's hard when you need to be the good and older role model all the time, and I always wanted a big sister figure to help mentor me. Then I met my Big and thought: "Oh dear God, this woman is me. Where has she been my whole life?" It was then that I realized God made us Big and Little because he knew the world wouldn't be able to handle us as sisters. Here are four reasons why my Big and I are actually sisters who were separated at birth.
1. We love the exact same things. The first time I met my Big, I didn't know her at all and didn't know what to expect from her. We started asking each other really simple questions, and within five minutes, we found a dozen things in common with each other. We loved the same favorite colors, we both loved Disney, our favorite movie was "Beauty and the Beast", we both loved Pink Moscato, the list could honestly go on for days. One of the main reasons why we're an awesome Big and Little team is because of all the things we love and have in common.
2. We look alike. I honestly can not tell you the amount of times strangers come up to us and ask if we're actually siblings. I mean look at us. We're super cute!
3. She's my ride or die. I've never had a friend, that I know without a doubt, would drive forty minutes to come see me if I were ever in any trouble. I always know that my Big always has my back. Even if I'm wrong, she would argue to anyone who would listen that I'm right. We're each others exit buddy when we leave bars, and we're each other's therapists when the world becomes too much. I know my Big has my back, and she knows I have hers.
4. She's my other half. I don't know where I would be in my college career if I didn't have my Big's love and support. She comes to all my shows, gives me all the advice and wine I could ever need, remembers my birthday, and would willingly drop anything if I ever needed her. She's the big sister I've waited my whole life for, and she arrived at the perfect time when I needed a big sister the most. I love you, my Big!
