4 Reasons Why 'The Cheetah Girls' Is The Best Movie
Metro Lyrics

In 2003, back when I was at the young age of six, one of the most amazing movies to ever come through Disney Channel was released. At such an impressionable age, I was exposed to all these ideas of how strong I can be and how amazing it is to accept and work with others. Two more movies later and a year in college down, I am still loving and jamming out hard to these songs. When I look back and remember the Cheetah Girls Concert I attended in fourth grade (one of the best moments of my young life), I know I didn't really get the importance of the lyrics then, but the meanings still hold strong now. With everything that's been going on in the news lately, it's nice to reminisce in these buts from the past and try and stay positive with the help of strong, empowering lyrics written for a movie about an all girl singing group named after a big cat.

1. "Cheetah Sisters"

This song is by far one of the greatest songs I heard as a child. The meaning behind it flows through years of movie watchers and is still relevant even today. The song goes on to say that the Cheetah girls have fought hard for what they have and deserve respect for putting in that hard work. It also says that even when you're at your worst and you feel like giving up, you have to be strong and always know that someone will have your back. The most important message from this song, by far, is that you should stand together with no matter your differences. We can all make each other stronger if we just work together and love each other for who we are.

2. "Cinderella"

This has probably become my favorite song of all time because of how empowering it is so girls. It's all about how women don't need to wait for a guy to come along and help them but that they can help themselves. It shows that we are strong enough to rescue ourselves and that we are equal to men. One of the best lines is: "I will be there for him just as strong as he will be there for me; when I give myself, then it has got to be an equal thing." This perfectly states that men and women should be there for each other.

3. "Girl Power"

The title pretty much gives away what the whole thing is about, but this song is filled to the brim with lyrics to empower not only girls, but anyone. It's all about how no matter how much you're beaten down, no matter how hard things get, you will survive and come out of it stronger that before. It also speaks on how you should always stay true to who you really are and never change for anyone.

4. "Together We Can"

This song may have a pretty basic meaning to it, but the title alone sets a thought into the minds of young viewers showing that we can work together for a common goal. The song is delivered in such an upbeat and powerful way that it really gets you excited about working together.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
