Barcelona is one of Spain's most lively and large cities to visit. It is well known for its architecture and art and does not fail to show the works of the famous architect, Gaudi. Some points of interest in Barcelona consist of La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and La Rambla. The La Sagrada Familia is a very famous church in Spain, which is known for its work in the church by Antoni Gaudi. The designs in the church are very intricate, made up of a lot of colors, shapes and other designs. The church's construction is still not complete with the estimated completion day being somewhere around 2026 to 2028. Next, Park Guell is a public park constructed again by architect Antoni Gaudi, which is acknowledged for its amazing design and its innovative structures. La Rambla is a famous street in Barcelona, which contains many tourists and has changed people's view on how they shop and eat around the city. The street has made people transition to pavement cafes and souvenir kiosks. A famous Spanish poet once said, "La Ramble was the only street in the world which I wish would never end." From the beautiful scenery of Barcelona to its unforgettable views, Barcelona is definitely one for the books!
2. Real Madrid, Spain
Real Madrid, another one of Spain's marvelous cities, is visited for its luxury appeal and emphasis on soccer teams and athleticism in the country. In addition, there are some very beautiful places to visit in Real Madrid such as The Royal Palace of Madrid, Plaza de Espana and Buen Retiro Park. The Royal Palace of Madrid is the official residence of the Spanish royal family, however, they do not live there anymore, and it is only used for state ceremonies. Therefore, the palace is open to the public. With 135,000 square meters (1,450,000 square foot) of floor space and c3,418 rooms, it is the largest royal palace in Europe and is very elaborate and descriptive to look at. The Plaza de Espana is a popular tourist destination located in Central Madrid, which is shaped like a square. This destination features a monument to Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra and is bordered by two of Madrid's prominent skyscrapers. This is all very beautiful to see and is worth the entire visit. Lastly, Buen Retiro Park is the first biggest park of Madrid city and is filled with beautiful monuments, galleries and a serene lake to enjoy. The food in the park is also some of the greatest Spanish food you'll get around Spain. Real Madrid, one of the most scenic and interesting cities of Spain, is definitely one you must visit.
3. Granada, Spain
Granada is known as the "land of a thousand castles" in Spain and is very pretty due to all the greenery, the mountains, and the lavish architectural heritage. Some top experiences in Granada include The Alhambra, Basilica San Juan de Dios and Capilla Real. The Alhambra is a red castle and is located on top of the hill al-Sabika and on the left bank of the river Darro. It is located at a strategic viewpoint so that you can see the whole city of Granada from the amazing landscape. The view is quite mesmerizing and is definitely one you will remember forever. The Basilica San Juan de Dios is a church located in Granada and it has many embellishments that are worth taking your time seeing. In conclusion, the Capilla Real is considered the royal chapel of Granada. It is an Isabelline style building located in the heart of Granda next to the Cathedral. This is worth seeing as you can find the history of the entire chapel in Capilla Real and discover the artistic designs. There are so many beautiful things to see in Granada, yet so little time.
4. Seville, Spain
Seville is the capital of southern Spain's Andalusia region and is famous for flamenco dancing, an amazing form of Spanish dance where the dancers express their deepest emotions by using body movements and facial expressions. Many flamenco dancers also use percussion handheld instruments to improve and elaborate their performance. The points of interests in Seville include the Alcazar of Seville, the Giralda and the Torre del Oro. The Alcazar is a royal palace which was originally developed by Moorish Muslim kings and is renowned as one of the most beautiful places in Spain. On the other hand, The Giralda is the bell tower of the Seville Cathedral and was originally built as a minaret, but then later expanded to a bell tower. The tower is 342 feet and remains one of the most important symbols of the city. The Torre del Oro is a dodecagonal military watchtower, which was constructed in the first third of the 13th century. It served as a prison in the Middle Ages, and it's very cool and interesting to go see how it turned out.
