Holiday shopping is a nightmare. No one enjoys sifting through lines of strangers at the mall searching for the perfect gift. But the good news is now we have technology helping us with Christmas shopping. 

Stress-free is no guarantee, but these apps can definitely be valuable weapons in the war against Christmas shopping by comparing prices and saving you money. Bargain hunters rejoice.

ShopSavvy

Just tell the app what you're looking to buy. ShopSavvy will keep track of when the item goes on sale and notify you when it does. It also has a price matcher, allows you to see when sales at major stores are happening and works as a barcode scanner. Just made your Christmas shopping much more convenient.

Smoopa

Smoopa answers the question: to buy online or not to buy online? This app lets you scan the item's barcode and then compares the online price to in-store prices. If the store doesn't have the best deal, the app will caution you against buying it and will direct you towards online options. Oh the power of the internet.
 

ShopAdvisor

Figuring out when to buy is a critical question for holiday shoppers. Deals and sales fluctuate — no one has time to watch for them for each item on their list. ShopAdvisor monitors price changes so you don't have to. You can even set up an alert on the app for when an item reaches a price that you are willing to pay for it.

Shopkick

Window shopping really does pay off. Get rewarded for just walking into stores, no purchase necessary. The app uses your location to show which stores are participating. With Shopkick you get points or "kicks" whenever you walk into a store, which are redeemable through gift cards at stores like Tiffany's and American Eagle.
