Spring break is coming up for most college students, and if you're lucky, you get to go home! Unfortunately, not all schools have the same spring break, so you might be going home at a different time than all your high school friends. At first you may not realize this, but after a couple of days you find out that you have no idea what to do because you can't go wreak havoc with your friends. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, though! Here are a couple of ideas to get you ready for your friendless week!
1. Hang out with your parents.
Come on, your parents aren't that lame. You rarely seem them anymore, so take a day or two and hang out with them. They missed you and we all know deep down you missed them too.
2. Get lunch with a high school teacher.
Teachers can be cool too!
3. Hang out with your siblings.
You may fight constantly, but it's time to suck it up because you currently have no friends except your siblings. Drag them on a hike or just hang out together at home!
4. Watch all those movies you've been wanting to.
We all have that list of movies we want to watch, but never do. Now you can finally get those movie references all your friends make, instead of just laughing and pretending you know whats going on.
5. Go out to a nice meal alone.
You're a college student, so that means you never eat and when you do it's disappointing dining hall food. Treat yo' self, and go get some good food to hold you over until summer break.
6. Go to the movies.
Yes. By yourself.
7. Eat your mom's home-cooked meals
When's the last time you've had a home-cooked meal? I'm guessing the last time you visited home, because who has the time or patience to cook a meal in a dorm room? It's basically impossible.
8. Binge watch a Netflix series.
There's always time to start a new Netflix series.
9. Get a haircut.
Time for a fresh new look?
10. Go on a drive.
If you're like me, you didn't bring a car to drive and you miss it SO much. Take advantage of this and spend some quality one-on-one time with your car.
11. Go explore outside.
Go on a hike, a walk to the park, a swim in a local watering hole (or if you live in California a dried-up ditch). Go soak up some sun!
12. Eat at your favorite restaurant that isn't in your college town.
First thing I'm doing when I get home is getting some decent Mexican food.
13. Prank your siblings.
Don't be angry if they strike back, though!
14. Craft.
Pinterest is full of DIY crafts! Go check it out and maybe you'll find your new passion in life.
15. Hang out with your extended family.
If you live by your cousins or grandparents go pay them a visit!
16. Tan.
Love ya Washington, but I'm so pale I could blind people.
17. Get ahead in your studies.
We all know this will only happen if we are really desperate for something to do.
18. Go to a museum.
19. Go to a place you've never been before.
Try out that restaurant that everyone raves about, or visit that random place where everyone takes their Instagram pictures. See what all the hype is about in your home town!
20. SLEEP.
We are college students which means no matter what, we never get enough sleep. Now's your time.
21. Try out a new recipe.
I always see those videos on social media of amazing food being made and wish I could, but living in a dorm makes it pretty much impossible. Now's my chance!
22. Spend your parent's money.
We are college students, which means we are broke.
23. Update your computer and phone so those annoying icons go away.
We all hate those little notification bubbles on our phones or computers. Time to update your devices so they finally go away!
24. Go to the beach alone.
25. Take up a new hobby.
Try taking pictures, or making GIF sets, or drawing, or skateboarding or even fitting as many pieces of popcorn in your mouth as you can! The possibilities are endless!
26. Walk your dog.
27. Become your little siblings' chauffeur.
As if this won't already happen when you go home.
28. Learn all the words to your favorite songs.
The look on someone's face right after you rap all the words to an insane rap is priceless. Learn the words to a crazy song and impress people!
29. Catch up with some old friends.
Get lunch with an old friend from middle school or elementary school!
Or when all else fails...
30. Pretend your friends are there.
Desperate times call for desperate measures...
