Every morning after I fight off grogginess and just before I leave my bed, I tell myself that I have so much to be grateful for and that I should start off my day with a smile rather than groan about wanting to sleep more. But I never do list the reasons why I am so thankful for the life I live and with Thanksgiving being next week, I decided that it would be a great idea to list them out. So here are 30 things that I am thankful for in no particular order.

  1. My fantastic parents who have always been there to support me no matter what.
  2. My best friend who just so happens to be my fiance.
  3. Books.
  4. DOGS
  5. For having been able to grow up surrounded by dogs.
  6. Chocolate.
  7. Having a happy childhood.
  8. Being fortunate enough to go to college.
  9. Being able to travel a lot.
  10. Being able to express my feelings however I wish.
  11. Music.
  12. The ability to read music and sing.
  13. My jobs.
  14. Growing up in a nice area where I could run around barefoot all day (and still do).
  15. Having amazing friends.
  16. Having a sister that I was able to share my childhood with and that I will be able to share the future with.
  17. For waking up this morning.
  18. For the joy of taking that first sip of coffee in the morning and knowing that I can tackle what the day brings.
  19. Disney movies.
  20. The ability to make my own decisions freely.
  21. Cute photos of puppies.
  22. Knowing what I want out of life.
  23. Harry Potter.
  24. Friends who I can always count on no matter what time of day it is.
  25. The little things in life.
  26. The people who I meet in passing that brighten my day.
  27. The people I work with.
  28. That special pair of sweatpants that make any movie day instantly better.
  29. Good food that warms the soul.
  30. Being able to be me.

This year just take a few seconds out of your day and remind yourself why you should be thankful this year as you enjoy your time with your family and friends.
