3 Skype Date Ideas For Long Distance Couples

Long distance relationships can be tricky and sometimes sad, especially when Valentine's Day is coming up. Even though nothing can ever feel as amazing as being able to go on a physical date with your significant other, Skype/FaceTime are the next best thing.

This technology allows you to actually hang out with them in your living room and gives you the opportunity to be creative with dates. Sometimes the only thing that can warm your heart is reminding yourself about the beautiful future that you're going to share with this person; goodbyes will be a thing of the past and Skyping until 2 a.m. will be a distant memory.

Until you can be reunited with your loved one, here are a few simple Skype date ideas to get you through this Valentine's Day season.

1. Plan your next visit.

Maybe the next time you can see your significant other is summer vacation or spring break. Maybe you guys want to be together for the holidays this year. Whatever the case, being able to purchase a plane ticket or create an itinerary for activities to do when you're together really helps. You have something to look forward to and can remind yourself that you are one day closer to seeing them in real life and not just through a screen.

2. Play Pictionary.

This is a very simple activity that allows you to be creative and competitive. Not only do get to play a game with your significant other but there's bound to be endless laughter. There are apps where you can watch the other person draw in real time if you don't want to go the old school route of paper, which makes it feel as if you're there with them while they draw.

3. Research apartments in your dream city.

By looking up apartments or neighborhoods, the excitement within you guys will grow stronger. Sometimes it feels as if the distance won't ever end but seeing possible places you guys can move together is a reminder that distance is only temporary.
