3 Reasons Why 90s Babies Will Always Love Disney Channel

Don't tell me you forgot about the 'Smart House,' 'Hannah Montana,' or 'Twitches?'

Yes, I am less than two years from being 20, and still can remember the excitement I had the first time I went to Disney World in Orlando, Fla when I was 4-years-old. I recently went back for my fourth time this year and got to eat with the princesses (I had a heart attack). No matter how old you are or what gender or race you are, everyone can agree on one thing: Disney is awesome. Disney has created millions of wonderful shows, characters, movies, accessories, and in the early 2000s, every little girl and boy (probably some adults too, and nothing is wrong with that as I will forever watch "Halloweentown") watched Disney Channel. If you do not think you'll always love it, then I will give you 3 reasons as to why you will.

1. Your Halloween costumes were amazing!

If you were anything for Halloween when you were young, it was one of the princesses. I was Snow White, Cinderella and Belle. This year, "Frozen" took the world by storm and I probably gave over 100 pieces of candy to each little Elsa and Ana that came to my doorstep. All the cute dresses, slippers, crowns and wands that come in each package completed every girl's dream of being Aurora or Ariel. If you weren't a princess, I bet you were Kim Possible or maybe even Lizzie McGuire. What about every 8-year-old's dream of being Hannah Montana? If you didn't buy the legit costume, you made your own and boy did you not want to take it off when it was bed time.

Don’t even get me started on the backpacks, lunch boxes and clothes we wore to school!

2. Disney Channel will never be great again.

Admit it, you will still sit down to this day and watch an old Disney show or movie. Let me give you a few:

TV Shows:

"That's So Raven"

"Suite Life of Zack and Cody"

"Kim Possible"

"Lizzie McGuire"

"The Proud Family"

"Hannah Montana"

"Sonny with a Chance"

"Wizards of Waverly Place"

"Cory in the House"

"Even Stevens"

Movies (from the '90s-2000s):

"Hocus Pocus"

"The Mighty Ducks"

"The Emperors New Groove" (I mean come on, "PULL THE LEVER KRONK")

"The Thirteenth Year"

"Zenon" and sequels

"Freaky Friday"

"Cheetah Girls"

"High School Musical"

"Halloweentown"

"The Princess Diaries"

Here's a few more in picture just to add to the effect:

Now tell me none of those movies made you smile or want to watch them again?

3. You can be however old you are and still be a kid.

Every time you see something that resembles a Mickey Mouse head, that is what you view it as whether it was meant to be that or not. When you hear those theme songs that used to be the songs you sang loudly in your living room, you sing it as loud as you can and are surprised at all the lyrics you remember. When you hear “Wildcats everywhere raise your hands up in the air” or “We’re cheetah girls, cheetah sisters” or what about “You get the best of both worlds. Chill it out, take it slow, then you rock out the show” you immediately get that tune in your head and start singing. I bet you did to those three didn't you? No matter how old you get, you’ll always remember all the CDs you had, posters, t-shirts, magazines, movies and will still get the butterflies or excitement to watch, listen or wear those items again. Sure, you probably do not think about it everyday, every week or maybe it just comes to you once a year. But one thing is for sure, when you hear that theme song or see something that reminds you of Disney in general, you can still see that 8-year-old you in the mirror trying to pretend you were dating one of the Jonas brothers or Miley Cyrus!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
