With us entering into the warmer months of 2016, 2014-2016 has been a 3 peat for Atlanta born recording artist, Future. From the release of his mixtape Monster, up to his newly released EP album, Evol, Future has provided fans with enough music to play all summer long. So this article will be a quick review on some of Future's best songs from 2014 to 2016.
Monster
After a year long dry spell of any new solo mixtape projects, Future released his mixtape, Monster in October of 2014, which included some of his smash hits, Commas, My Savages, Mad Love, and Codeine Crazy. This project has became the precursor to the hydrocodone induced sound that Future has become famous for in many of his songs.
Beast Mode
Although this mixtape did not do as well as Monster, Beast Mode did produce fans with smash hits such as Lay Up, Forever, and Real Sisters. Beast Mode acted as a sample platter for the new music Future was unable to release due to his personal DJ, DJ Eskimo, being incarcerated for 56 Nights while in Dubai.
56 Nights
Probably one of Future's best mixtape projects thus far. Many of the songs from this mixtape went on to be played on the mainstream radio waves. 56 Nights was the project released by Future after the release of DJ Eskimo, who contained much of the songs on this mixtape on his hard drive, which was unavailable until he was released. 56 Nights included smash hit singles such as Never Gon Loose, 56 Nights, Trap, and the club banger, March Madness. This project showed Future's talent to crossover to the mainstream audience and was pretty much the mixtape you heard on everyone's playlist for summer 2014.
Dirty Sprit 2
Future's EP album which was released in July 2015, DS2 elevated Future's fanbase after selling over 300,000 copies, solidifying his talent as a artist and winning a Gold certificate. This album included the hit song Where You At featuring Canadian recording artist, Drake.
What A Time To Be Alive
The duo EP album that featured Drake and went on to sell over 500,000 copies, making the album certified platinum. The album contain numerous hits pretty much from beginning to end. If you're a fan of Future or Drake then WATTBA still is probably on your playlist and playing in your car when you and your friends are heading out to Saturday night's festivities.
Purple Rain
Future did not wait to long to hit the studio back up and in something short of year, released his solo mixtape project, Purple Rain. This project is fairly still new, so for those of you who have not heard it yet and are fans of his previous work, you will not be disappointed with this one.
Evol
Future's newest album, which released a month after Purple Rain (damn Future you're killing!). This album, much of his work, provided fans with his hydrocodone, Percocet and Zanex induced sound, which many recording artist have gone on to mimic.
