I love sitting and watching award shows, mostly because I like to critique them on how good or awful they are, so often times you'll see me live tweeting throughout the night. I didn't even know the MTV Video Music Awards were on tonight, so because my cable box isn't working (curse you Comcast), I streamed the whole thing on my computer, got myself a nice glass of wine and watched the night unfold. Here are some thoughts that ran through my head as the night went on.

1. Welcome to the VMAs with Bad Girl RiRi.

2. *screams cause Nick Jonas*

3. Why do we have 80 million hosts?What is going on? Who are you people? *cue Patrick gif*

4. When you win a Moonman but you're stuck in traffic...I feel you Drake.

5. Lil Dicky's Trojan commercial is literally everything.

6. Ariana's and Nicki's highlights tho >>> #goals

7. Michael Phelps finally came out and said what song he was listening to while he made the #PhelpsFace: "Stick Talk" by Future.

8. Kanye is about to speak? Time to go refill my glass of wine...

9. Okay Key and Peele are getting to be a little much.

10. Ansel Elgort, I love you and you're a cutie and all...but you look like Edward Scissorhands.

11. Ugh two of my favorite things: Nick Jonas and bacon.

12. That selfie with Nick and DNCE just rekindled all of my JoBro feels...Kevin where you at?
