27 Movies To Watch During Winter Break

Breaks from school are always fun, although there are some days when I have nothing to do. It's days like these that I like to curl up in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and watch movies. There are so many movies out there though, so sometimes I have no clue what to watch. Here is a list of movies for you to watch or re-watch during vacation.

1. "Home Alone" - Every single one.

2. "A Cinderella Story" - This one is FINALLY on Netflix!

3. "Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List" - I'm not sure if this is still on Netflix but I saw it when it was. (A++)

4. "Begin Again" - This movie left me speechless, and if you like music you'll really enjoy this too.

5. "Love Actually" - I haven't seen this yet but I heard it's great.

6. "Abducted" - This movie came out a few years ago and I know certain people that hate it. Although I re-watch it a lot and I know the ending, the movie keeps me on the edge of my seat all the time. (A++)

7. "Speed" - Old but awesome!

8. "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" - I don't cry from movies, but this one made me cry uncontrollably. Out of all movies on this list you should watch this first.

9. "White House Down" - Channing Tatum (simple as that).

10. "Salt" - Did you know the lead role (played by Angelina Jolie) was supposed to be a male originally? Well Jolie was epic!

11. "Divergent" - As usual, the book was better. Although, it was a great movie and they brought certain parts of the book to life really well.

12. "Finding Dory" - Because more millennials were excited about this than children.

13. "Sky High" - On Netflix!

14. "13th" - I had to watch this for my sociology class, it was very interesting.

15. "Man on Wire" - Haven't seen this yet, but I'm planning to watch it this weekend.

16. "Paper Towns" - I only watched this because I read the book and I wanted to compare them. It was really cute and there were certain parts where my friends and I erupted with laughter.

17. "The Fault in Our Stars" - A+++ (Dramedy).

18. "Ghost" - A+++++ (Romantic Fantasy).

19. "The Call" - Epic!

20. "Legally Blonde" - A throwback for old times sake.

21. "Silence of the Lambs" - If you have a weak stomach don't watch this...

22. "Mean Girls" - Watch it on a Wednesday ;)

23. "The Pacifier" - This is such a family movie, it's one reason why I love it.

24. "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" - A++ (An adaptation of the coming-of-age novel).

25. "The Great Gatsby" - I saw the one from 2000 and the one from 2013, both were great.

26. "The Martian" - I watched this on a flight to Puerto Rico, and I loved it. It was a little boring at first, but the ending turned out pretty cool.

27. "The Purge: Election Year" - Because everything that has happened over the course of this years election was terrifying as well.

Hope you guys enjoy your break!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
