Would you want to be in the room where it happens? Next time your report card comes out, why don't you use lyrics from the Broadway show to either lighten the mood for your parents or to express your incredible knowledge.

What to say when you got bad grades:

1.“I’m helpless.” — "Helpless"

I don't know how to do school anymore.

2. “You will never be satisfied.” — "Satisfied"

3. "Incoming!" — "Right Hand Man"

Warning: this semester was rough.

4. "My teacher 'is insane man.'" — "Alexander Hamilton"

5. "There's a million things I haven't done. Just you wait." — "Alexander Hamilton"

I have so many homework assignments and projects left to hand in; those will raise my grades (fingers crossed).

6. "Me? I trusted him [my teacher] to give me a better grade." — "Alexander Hamilton"

We were buds, I thought he'd be able to give me at least a little leeway on assignments and absences.

7. “Da da da da daaaa…" — "You'll Be Back"

I'm just singing to avoid the conversation.

8. “I will fight the fight and win the war." — "You'll Be Back"

In order to get my teacher to raise the grade, this is what I must do...

9. "Daddy doesn't need to know." — "The Schuyler Sisters"

Come on Mom, don't tell Dad. I don't want to get in even more trouble.

10. "Well I’ll be damned.” — "The Election of 1800"

Well, I'm in shock because my parents predicted that I did badly on my report card, even though I did.

11.“I’m only 19.”— "Blow Us Away"

Give me a break, my brain is still growing.

12. “I promise that I’ll make y’all proud." — "My Shot"

Give me another chance.

13. “I am in dire need of assistance.” — "Right Hand Man"

A tutor maybe?

14. “Permission to state my case?” — "Right Hand Man"

I can explain...

15.“I am unconscious of intentional error.”

I do not know how this happened.

16. "Hate the sin, love the sinner."

You guys still love me, right?

17. "Goodbye." — "One Last Time"

Just avoid the situation completely.

Then there are the good grades:

18. "Raise a glass..." — "The Story of Tonight"

19. “I’m getting a scholarship to kings college.”— "My Shot"

Or any other college...

20. “I prob’ly shoultn’t brag, dag, I amaze and astonish.” — "Blow Us All Away"

Basically, I'm the best.

21. “Bright young man, yo who the f is this.” — "Non-Stop"

Hello, it's me, the genius.

22.“With every word, I drop knowledge!” — "My Shot"

The genius is still here.

23. "I am inimitable. I am an original." — "Wait For It"

No one is as smart as me. There is no one like me.

24. "And the world is gonna know [my] name!" — "Alexander Hamilton"

25. "Work!" -- "The Schuyler Sisters"

Just. Work.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
