Saturday is my 25th birthday and aside from the feeling that I'm getting older, I'm feeling like it's time to make a few changes in my life. I'm a person who likes to set resolutions for the year and while I don't always follow them, I usually try my best. I think starting a new year with some goals is always a good thing, and since this is my 25th year on Earth, and a quarter of my life is done, I think it's time to set some huge goals for myself.

1. Learn to forgive

2. Love harder

3. Go to the gym and don't stop in a few weeks

4. Wear makeup because I like it, not because I feel like I need to

5. Write the book I've had in my head for years

6. Go to as many concerts as I can

7. Crack open my personal shell

8. Spend more time with my family

9. See some new places

10. Read more

11. Spend less time worrying about everybody else

12. Appreciate the little things

13. Eat out less

14. Try harder to be a vegetarian

15. Learn a new programming language

16. Be more optimistic

17. Get a new tattoo

18. Spend more time outside

19. Learn some new recipes

20. Be happier in my own skin

21. Make new friends

22. Save more money

23. Learn to manage my mental health

24. Be the best person I can be

25. Just live

Around the age of 12, when I was deciding whether or not to be gay, Satan appeared on my left shoulder. “Ramsssey,” he said with that telltale lisp. “Come over to our side. We have crazy partiessss.” He made a strong case, bouncing up and down on my shoulder with six-pack abs and form-fitting Calvin Kleins. An angel popped up on the other shoulder and was going to warn me about something, but Satan interrupted- “Shut up, you crusty-ass bitch!’ The angel was pretty crusty. She disappeared, and from that moment forward I was gay.

Senior Year Is Here And I Am So Not Ready For It

I was you not that long ago. I was once an eager freshman, a searching sophomore, and a know-it-all junior. Now? Now I am a risk taker. Not the type that gets you in trouble with your parents, but the type that changes your future. Senior year is exciting. A lot of awesome things come along with being the top-dog of the school, but you, right now, are building the foundation for the next 4 years that you will spend in high school. I know you've heard it all. "Get involved", "You'll regret not going to prom", "You're going to miss this". As redundant as these seem, they're true. Although I am just at the beginning of my senior year, I am realizing how many lasts I am encountering.

Why Driving Drives Me Crazy

the highways are home

With Halloween quickly approaching, I have been talking to coworkers about what scares us. There are always the obvious things like clowns, spiders, heights, etc. But me? There are a number things I don't like: trusting strangers, being yelled at, being in life or death situations, parallel parking. All of these are included when you get behind the wheel of a car.
